A lot of businesses these days rarely spend much time looking at their utility expenses. Rather, companies continue to pay whatever the energy provider charges them each month, without knowing it they could very easily reduce their organisation’s energy payments significantly by lowering their power usage.

It’s exceedingly important to understand that changes to your heating and ventilation systems can have a somewhat huge effect on the total amount of energy consumed every week. Furthermore, small adjustments in your employees’ daily habits can also help you to save a lot more business energy than you would think.

To save business energy the two most essential things to keep in mind are as follows; replace the electricity appliances that consume a significant amount of power with more power efficient equipment, and secondly, smart usage of electrical appliances at the office can also help you save on your business’s payments.

Always ensure that you switch off your electricity machines when they are not being used. You will definitely be stunned to know that televisions, personal computers and microwaves use as much as ninety percent of the energy when in standby. Another really important thing to keep in mind is to switch off the lighting each and every time you leave the office, mainly because it is one of the most straightforward and effective techniques for you to lower energy consumption. Not on this, but energy saving light bulbs uses a lot less power than existing tungsten filament light bulbs. Therefore, by swapping your current set of light bulbs will help to lower your business’s electricity usage a great deal.

Radiators should also be either switched off or at least be turned down low when not in use as you can save electricity by just turning the heating on at a lower temperature. The same rule of reducing the temperature also is valid while heating water.

For efficient electricity management, the maintenance of your organisation’s properties is incredibly important. The property ought to be suitably insulated and the machinery ought to be clean and well maintained in order that day to day costs can be kept as low as possible. For natural lighting, windows should not be blocked by office furniture. Angled blinds should be used so that sunlight can bright up the office on sunny days. Find superb energy deals from various commercial electricity suppliers online today.

Moreover, the government is increasingly encouraging organisations to invest cash in greener electricity. Because of this, you can claim tax incentives by investing money in electricity saving services.

There are numerous companies existing today that offer life insurance policies. Though the crux of the policy (to ensure a safe and sound life of an individual’s survivors as well as to the individual) does not alter yet companies try to differ with each other by making different classifications or bifurcations.

Broadly the life insurance is divided into two parts.

1.	Term Life Insurance Policy- Anyone can opt for a term life insurance. This type of policy is basically meant to cover a person’s short term requirements. For instance if the policyholder unfortunately meets with a grave accident, he can claim for the insurance amount. But it also compensates the bereaved in the case of death of a family member. All in all it is a policy that helps in covering potential need for life insurance in the short run.

Term life insurance is usually a renewable and convertible program. It ranges from one to hundred years. If it is a one year program then the cost of its coverage increases after every one year till the time it expires. Generally the expiry is at the age of 75. While if the policy is term to the age of 100 along with cash value it subsequently becomes a part of the insurance for ‘whole life’. Quite often it is noticed that it is cheaper to buy a whole life insurance policy than a non-cash one in value Term 100 policy.

2.	Permanent Life Insurance- this is life insurance for the entire life of the individual. The value of this policy increases throughout the time one participates in the program. Terms such as Par and Non-Par are widely used in this context. Par whole life coverage generates dividends that are a partial return of the premium paid for coverage and investment growth. The amount of dividends keeps on changing from annually. On the other hand the non-par whole life insurance policies offer no dividends. The future cash values in these cases are not projected but assured or guaranteed.

•	Besides this whole life-quick pay premium policies are also available. In these there is a fixed premium that one has to pay for quit a short interval of time till the time it is entirely paid up. The death benefit in this policy is leveled and paid up at the time the premium ceases.

•	Whole life insurance policy can also be fractured in terms of premium payable for 15 years, 20 years and 65 years of age. The terms and conditions in these cases remain more or less the same.

•	Universal life insurance policy is meant for people who require a life insurance, have a big marginal tax bracket, have big RRSP and pension contributions, paying a good tax on investment income, want to have an additional future income and have an investment prospect for at least 10 years. These policies are considered to be most difficult of all the insurance contracts.

Anyone can be a farmer. You can too. Why not try growing Arborvitae. They’re simple to grow and plant. They can even make you huge profits. I feel the best opportunity in agriculture is in raising plants and trees. Growing plants can be done almost anywhere. You don’t have to have large fields and hundreds upon hundreds of acres. You merely have to have imagination. People who grow dope do it in cellars and in caves. Select plants to raise which you see being sold in quant like mine (Highland Hill Farm). There are just so many local nurseries, garden centers, flower shops, etc.

In our area, arborvitae are in hot demand. These plants can be started from free cuttings or you can buy rooted cuttings. Thousands can be grown in a 20′x20′ area, for instance, the size of two parking spaces, in small containers. Arborvitae are not the only plants that you can choose. Dwarf conifers and bonsai are other avenues to consider. The first thing to consider is what plants you like. They make a nice starting point. I like arborvitae. Plus they are easy to grow. There are many types that are available. These can be grown from cuttings< /a> or you can purchase rooted cutting or small liners. I suggest that you raise Emerald Greens. They are compact and very popular. A 2-3″ rooted cutting in 3 years should be 2′ if growing conditions are optimal. These might sell for as much as $5-10 depending on your market and quality. If you were to raise 1000 of them that might be $5-10,000. You can market them just as I do on the internet. Being small you can ship them via UPS practically anywhere. An example of a plant that is not suitable for small plot urban farming is an Oak tree. It is very fast in growing (good), but has a big tap root, and is best marketed when over 6-8′ tall. You will use up your space with a hard to confine, large tree that is not suitable for close compact container production. Shipping will also be more costly as starter plants tend to be larger hence larger shipping fees per tree. Besides I have sold many people 50 -100 arbs at a time but no one, 100 oaks at a time. My largest order for arbs to one homeowner was 265. Try to target plants that will sell multiples to a customer rather than just one at a time. If you target single plants to individual customers you need high value plants for your sales cost per unit will be higher. You will hear the same story from your customers about 1 plant as you will about 10 plants. I can tell you without a doubt that each customer will tell you about his property and his neighbors dog. I would rather hear the story once for each 10 plants that I sell. That is why I like plants that sell in multiples to a single customer. Additionally an unusual or exotic plant is seldom purched in quanity and the buyer has little knowledge of the plant. They will have many more questions about this plant. This translates to a higher amount of time spent on a smaller volume of product sold.

Arborvitae are commonly used evergreen shrubs or trees useful in urban areas where low maintenance and durability is needed. Many cultivars with forms such as being globed in shape, columnar, or narrow pyramidal, tend to be near buildings, doors, and walkways. Other forms which are larger are used for screens and buffers that are planted in rows. These plants will be easy to raise on your small urban lot.

The form of arborvitae is small, medium, or large depending on the cultivar. Some reach 50′, others only 3′. Most prefer full sun to partial sun. Planting in dense shade conditions should be avoided. A moist , well drained, loamy soil in full sunlight are ideal conditions for growing healthy arborvitae. These plants will tolerate rocky, clay, urban conditions of heat drought and pollution. The most important pest we have is bagworms which must be controlled to prevent complete defoliation. Some cultivars have multiple leaders which also prove to be a detraction for the plant. Pruning out multiple leaders in some cultivars is a simple remeady. As you raise these plants if you find that you are selling more than you can raise on your property, an add in the newspaper such as, “Wanted: land to grow trees on” will help you find vacant parcels to use in growing more stock. This land may be free to use as many owners want in urban areas land to be used as it is then maintained. We have had many offers of free land to use in raising nursery stock. (You should check with your local BTK Code Enforcement Officer to make sure that this use is acceptable.) Another suggestion is that you work for another local urban grower. They may have facilities set up that they would allow you to use after hours. When they see that you are a willing go getter, they might even ask you to grow special plants that they don’t want to grow because the volumes are light or they are to intensive in labor. At any rate it is the best way to learn the trade and its secrets. Most nurserymen will tell all their trade secrets because its the best way to help the industry and build a network of reliable and knowledgeable associates.

The most famous of the Dodecanese, beautiful and famous for its mixed lifestyles, Rhodos has contributed the Colossus, a huge statue which stood at the port’s entrance, to the seven wonders of the world. The old city is surrounded by powerful fortifications with bastions, battlements, gates and moat; a fine example of 15-16th century art. In the midst of the old city, and separated from it by an internal wall, stands the Palace of the Grand Masters of the Order of Saint John.

Now fully restored, with its fine wooden ceilings and floors paved with marble in various colors or with ancient mosaics brought over from Kos and alabaster windows, its fine 16th century furniture, this castle will fascinate you and make you understand the great diversity of Greek history. Rhodos offers beautiful holiday resorts along an endless coastline, restaurants, tavernas etc. and a famous casino. Numerous excursions and sailing trips can be made to visit sights like Kamiros, regarded as the Pompeii of Rhodes, and Butterfly valley, the Castallia fountain and many more.

Last but not least, the Acropolis of Lindos, where a spacious arcade marks the beginning of a stately staircase leading to the raised terrace on which stand the remains of 5th century BC Propylaea. Past this , the way leads to the sanctuary of the Lindian Athena with its beautiful 4th century BC temple perched on the edge of the cliff commanding a breathtaking view of the sea below.

Rhodos is the main base in the Dodecanese for bareboat charters in the area and the adjacent Turkish coast. Crewed yachts are available from Rhodos at an extra charge, due to the cost of the empty run.

What does one need to do to get the perfect close-up of a wild flower? Set up a tripod, clip on camera, then snap, snap it’s in the bag, camera, chip.. whatever? Maybe… but consider a few unexpected impediments first. Finding the perfect clump of subjects (mostly the easy part), stopping suddenly or rather screeching to a halt (sometimes interesting along a busy highway)…parking and gathering up the necessary gear (easy) – then my least favourite part, lugging everything over hill and dale. Tripod, camera bag with several lenses which never seem to get any lighter and then fun, fun, fun…It seems, seemed a short distance across three fences to where the wild, gorgeous yellow number (nothing exotic – a simple daisy but a beauty!), nods in the gentle breeze..but…

Have you ever tried to climb over a fence with tripod in hand and weighty camera bag over shoulder? “Just pass them through the fence and follow”, you say! In theory perfect but as is often the case when I’m out ready to shoot I have tripod ready, camera clipped in, slung over right shoulder legs extended, spread ready to go (the fact that I look like a giraffe with ungainly neck protrusions goes unnoticed) and my camera bag is old, slightly smelly and large!. So, how do I climb through the first fence, let alone the second or third in pursuit of the perfect daisy without a lot of folding of legs pushing and shoving, and unclipping of my precious digital genius first? Simple answer – I don’t, I try to get through regardless. Result? The air rapidly turns blue around my head and expletives neither original nor inventive start erupting unbidden from my person. And then the final indignity as at least one part of my favourite jumper gets snagged by an ever vigilant barb! My alternative solutions: throw the gear over and hope for the best, find a gate (how many miles to the nearest?), or simply leave it all in the SUV…barring the digital genius and one’s favourite 1:1 lens of course!

My final decision? Leave tripod and bag in the SUV, take the necessary, and hope that the ravages of the previous night haven’t wrought havoc with traditionally rock steady hands. So then leaping like a gazelle over fences one, two and three, I stride toward the perfect clump of yellow. It’s late in the season, so all the white daisies are pretty much done – rich, golden yellow it is.

Selecting the perfect specimen is next. I need to decide what I’m trying to say in the pic. Perfection with clarity – nature’s form, sublime in its attention to detail or organic soft colour merging into more colour with shadowy bits – a bit of both perhaps. The magic of digital, the freedom of digital – the ability to try everything because one can! I love it. It’s a revelation, a deepening of the creative urge to explore new realms without cost… or end sometimes.

Sure, one can always argue that it leads to lack of direction, lack of planning but one can also argue in return that it extends one’s vision, increases one’s output and ability to see the world from different perspectives. I relish the challenge!

Back to the world of yellow! Perfection… mmmm. Unable to settle on which of the perfect choices is THE perfect choice I decide to shoot anyway, putting pen to paper or rather index finger to shutter button in order to get the creative juices flowing. As always seems to happen, I relax into it and my mind opens up to the possibilities: depth of field, front edge of a petal in focus back edge out and vice versa but mostly my mind is consumed by warm yellow. Kneeling on the ground head down intensely focused – the butt in the air angle would not be an attractive sight for any passing observer but I don’t need to worry about such considerations as this mild obsession most often leads to splendid isolation.

A bit of advice – bracket everything (1 either side in stops or thirds if you have the choice), shoot at the highest resolution you can achieve with whichever model of digital genius you possess and take at least half a dozen shots per chosen angle. Give yourself the best chance of capturing the one you really wanted – the perfect image, beautiful enough to grace your wall, a wall anywhere. One feels such an idiot when one has to declare it didn’t quite happen because of trigger finger meanness! Digital genius is defined by trigger finger generosity or put another way – repetition is the basis of professionalism. Whatever it takes I say. Get the shot! The satisfaction is immense.

More advice – check the first few images carefully on the preview screen just to make sure everything is working as it should. Don’t end up taking twenty splendid black and white shots of a gorgeous yellow daisy – do the greyscale thing in Photoshop! Slow down, check the first few brackets. Check that the ISO is set to 100 not to 1600 from last night’s fun and that all the exposure compensation overrides are back to normal (or leave the settings at 1600 over by two if weird and whacky is what you’re after). Little things but in my twenty years as a photographer these little things become mortifyingly large things if ignored!

So perfection captured, 0 and 1’s secured in the land of Flash wizardry it’s back across the three fences leaping not quite so enthusiastically now, the gazelle’s knees are a little creaky from kneeling on the damp ground – back to the ever patient, ever reliable SUV. Gear stowed, key in the ignition, we’re off …A glow of anticipation washes over me!

But never forget the first things to do on your return? Download and backup! Forget at your peril. DOWNLOAD AND BACKUP just in case you didn’t get it the first time.

Today’s modern day dining-room furniture is refined and subsequently elegant. With extra consideration to detail, household furnishing designers bring style, diversity and of course, value to customers like never before. If you’re pondering over a revamp to your own current dining area decor, its safe to say options are bountiful. Find a large collection of home items including; dining room furniture, duvet covers and office furniture from prominent manufacturers on the internet.

Ideally, your first target will be to determine how much space you posses. Less spacious dining rooms tend to house circular dining tables to improve accessibility and passage within the area. You will never like one’s family or guests to feel crowded and circular dinner tables are certainly far more accommodating. If your dinner room is large in addition to an abundance of floor area, longer dinner tables are typically ideal. Just as you don’t wish for the furniture to overpower a particularly humble area; neither would you wish for the size of the room to take away from the beauty of your dining table and dining seats. In interior furnishings, it is simply about proportion.

You will also need to take into account whether or not you will include any furniture you already possess in addition to your newer selections. If so, you might want to make certain every object fits in impeccably and coordinates well together. If you posses a modern curio cabinet, for instance, you might want to consider a glass dining-room table alongside seats which will look well together with the cabinet. Keep in mind it’s all about the look you are going for – if it feels OK then it is definitely right. If you like the appearance of something a bit more traditional, there are a great many fine looking wooden dining room sets which enable you to uphold that traditional feel, but also allows you to include refreshed or sleek furniture alongside a touch of a modern flair.

You’ll be satisfied to discover the countless seating and table top finishes. Drop leaf dining tables are typically ideal for those families that love to entertain; they permit you to boost your table top room when you need it and then conveniently fold it in or slide it through recessed channels as and when it’s not needed. Dining seating could be another superb way to characterise your own distinctive look. Benches match effortlessly together with dining-room chairs and can also supply a bit more seating space compared to their chair counterparts.

Finally, you will wish to have consideration to your accent pieces. A bare corner is dramatically brought to life by a small feature table and maybe a lamp or plant life. China cabinets, buffets and serving tables are only a few suggestions that might better your dining room furniture.

[As Told by the Last] King: it was in the year 23,700 BC that one of the two moons of earth was hit by a meteor that of which, a great part of the moon broke off and hit earth’s surface with a devastating impact. Thus the solar system absorbed a cataclysm in unimaginable proportions, from Jupiter to Mars; knocking Earth out of its 100,000-year Ice Age. This destroyed three civilizations, two on Earth, and ours on Mars. That is when I left my home, on the giant rim of Olympus Mons, fifteen-miles high, over a thousand miles wide. Atlantis was originally on Mars you know; replanted on earth, from our residue and remnants. It happened like this…

[Advance] …as the Earth absorbed its momentary catastrophe, we absorbed our doom: the echo of the earth shocked the solar system and set the Martian crust in motion, thus rocking Mars off its axis, snuffing out the planet’s magnetic field, slowing down its spin[this is where the poem begins]:

1
The Face of Mars

The Face of Mars
Now, sculptured
By haunting winds
Ancient voices
And forgotten dreams…
Once belonged to the Last King…!

‘Ah! Yes, yes, like a burning lantern
In a dark sea, it belonged to me…’

2
Earth and Mars

‘I have learned
Life is brief on earth;
For we’ve been here
Since its inhabitant birth…

Yet, I was the last to descend
Let me explain:

One day on Mars
The oceans disappeared;
Next, was the atmosphere;
Then came the rays of the sun,
Water was no longer plentiful

Only in the subsoil
Life was almost gone….’

3
Olympus Mons

Olympus Mons [volcano]

‘I lived on the rim of Olympus Mons
Where I could see miles below
See the valleys carved

Carved in deep,
By ancient water flows;
Mars quakes, crust movements!

And to the east
Was the chaotic terrain
(Liken to Earth’s moon)
Beautiful, but not livable;

And our giant volcanoes
With their immense lava
Cones
The pride of the universe…

And our dusty monstrous
Dunesand our once beautiful city,
Now just mounds

It was all, all so majestic back then;
And that is how it was,
When I was the Last King….’

Keeping a journal is a form of creative expression that enhances the creativity coaching process. Keeping a journal develops emotional awareness, reinforces self-esteem and aids in problem-solving. Keeping a journal also provides a written record of artistic growth, struggle and change. Here are some basic exercises that I use throughout the creativity coaching process.

DIALOGUE: Writing a dialogue between one or more subjects helps to identify and separate emotions, ideas, issues and influences in a given creative situation. The primary result of writing dialogue is to clarify the creative situation, to give voice to all aspects of the situation and to restore the situation to it’s proper perspective.

GRATITUDE LIST: Thank you lists are very easy to write. It takes no more than a few seconds, some paper and a pen to create a list. Thank you lists, no matter what the length, powerfully challenge negative thoughts, disappointment and disouragement. Lists also help restore the situaition to it’s rightful place in the clients creative pocess. Thank you lists are especially useful when pursuing long-term goals and facing crises.

COMPLETED ACTION LIST: What a client thinks can powerfully impact the creative process. Building an artistic career upon past negative artistic experiences blocks creative expression. It also leaves no room for the possiblitiy of current or future positive change. Keeping track of completed actions, no matter how small, provides an accurate record of the client’s progress toward her artistic and business goals.

GOAL LIST: Identifying and developing artistic and business goals, provides a clear path for fullfilling the client’s dreams. Regular progress through each goal can become a ready source of motivation for the client. The goal list provides a reality check for boh the client and the coach, when difficulties rise or progress is being assessed.

CHARACTER TRAITS LIST: Developing and maintaining a list of the character traits reinforces self-esteem, aids in problem-solving, and increases emotional awareness. The client describes one success using one character trait. The client learns to acknowledge her participation in the creative process which will encrourage future creative learning and growth.

Keeping a journal of creative work and progress can enrich all areas of an artist’s life. Start exploring your creativity today.

Brief History of the Italian Language

Documents dating as far back as the 10th century were written in Italian, although it is believed that some form of Italian language was used in the 8th century by people who did not understand Latin. Traders and clergy might have used this language to address the people of those days.

The Italian language has evolved into many different dialects and languages throughout the centuries due to differences in politics, lack of communications and mobility, and also various culture gaps as people of different origins migrated to Italy.

Differences in Dialects

There is a standard Italian language, which is taught in schools of all regions. The standard language was derived from Medieval Tuscan dialect. The dialects each have their own characteristics so even tourists can tell a difference when visiting more than one region.

The Neapolitan dialect, for example, is often used in popular songs. This language is called Napoletano. Speakers of this language change articles into single vowels. “Il” might be shortened to ‘O. The Roman dialect called Romanesco is where the speaker replaces the letter “l” with the “r” sound. Toscana is a dialect used by the Tuscans where the letter “c” is often pronounced as “ch” combined.

Rare Italian Dialects

In remote areas of Italy there are rare dialects that are in danger of extinction. These often combine two languages or several dialects to form their own distinct language.

The Judeo-Italian dialect is called Italkian. It is a minority language that was spoken by people living in urban areas of Rome or in central and northern Italy between the 10th and 17th centuries. The language was very popular in Livorno. It’s a blend of Italian and Hebrew, and only around 4,000 people actually use it as their primary language today.

Yiddish is another rare language that blends Hebrew and German. Ladino is a language that blends Spanish and Hebrew.

Jews who Speak Italian

At the beginning of the 20th century, Jews in Italy were fluent with their own language as well as standard Italian. They also had a dialect called Judeo-Italian, which differed by region and city. Judeo-Italian dialects were often used in Jewish rituals and the Passover Haggadah, and they were also written in Hebrew.

Italian Language for the Traveller

Travellers to Italy will benefit tremendously if they learn key Italian words and phrases before their trip. Eating at restaurants, visiting attractions or villages, and touring local sites will be much easier for the tourist who knows what to ask and how to ask in Italian! Courses to help learn Italian phrases as well as culture and traditions in various regions are available online.

Just like any other nation, the dialect one hears will depend on where he visits. The language and dialects make each area unique, and tourists can discover something new everywhere they go in Italy.

Where can find international cell phones and service for Italy in the USA? From http://www.planetomni.com Free incoming calls from all countries night and day and calling the states is just US $.60 per minute! They rent and sell phones and satellite phones as well and ship to you everything you need before you leave. They have service for more than 160 countries of the world’s 193 countries and they ship worldwide.

John Dulaney, born Dec. 11th, 1946, married with children.
Living most years since 1969 outside the USA and working in motion pictures since 1965 I started QuantumStar.com with my wife, Jojo, in March of 1994 in San Francisco, Ca.
I’ve lived in or been to approximately 36 countries and have lived under Democracies, Socialism, Communism, dictatorships, kingdoms and others. There is nothing like home.
I participated at Channel Four in Manila, Philippines during the “People Power Revolution” and stood, with my wife’s brother, along with half a million others against the threat of tank attack.
I have witnessed the ruinous effects of Socialism /Communism /Dictatorship in dozens of countries and today enjoy the remains of our freedoms and protections of the Constitution in the USA here in California.
Working in front of and behind the camera films around the world we removed to the suburbs and a quiet life, for a few years. We still have property in Umbria, Italy, some is for sale. After all is said and done I count my children, wife Jojo and my friends as my only real treasure.
