Emails vs. eCards in romance.

Filed under: Information Center at 10:18 am Comments Off

What are emails? A tool of communication. What are eCards? A tool for communication. So what is the difference between the two?

What do we mean by communication? A simple communication may mean asking someone to fetch something. That is probably one of the simplest communication. In our life some of our communications are very simple and some very complicated. Some leaders do not know how to communicate to their voters. They fail to get elected. In these types of communications the effectiveness depends upon the kind of impact it will have on the recipient.

Communication is not science. It is an art. In love, communication is very crucial. A bad communication can kill the love. Am I telling you what I mean? Are you able to understand what I mean? If any misunderstanding occurs in the chain described before, the communication will fail. I never said, what you understood. But I thought that you meant this! Bad communication results in breaking relationships.

This is where ecards score over emails in love. You may have the best software for sending a mail. But the very simple look of the mail will kill the message. How does it feel to read I Love You on a common mail? Definitely not very impressive! Look at some eCards on Valentine here and probably you will get my point better. Please view. My Life Revolves Around You , Spirit of love , Sweetheart, I Love You , Will You Be Mine… View more greetings on valentine to find out how a communication can be made very effective with ecards on Valentine here.

How to Get the Ranking You Always Wanted!

Filed under: SEO Parlor at 2:18 pm Comments Off

Is your web site well ranked (In the top ten search results) in the results? If not, you need to read this and get the ranking you always dreamed of getting with your web site! I will show you how to get your web site a top ten ranking in the search engines with these few easy-to-do steps.

Site Design – The web site’s structure will decide how the spiders read your web site and the speed of them indexing the web pages. There should be more text content then HTML content. You should avoid programs such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver. Such programs will add coding that isn’t necessary and also they may add coding errors. The pages should validate and be usable in all of todays leading browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, etc.). Also look at your web site in a text browser, this will give you good idea of what the spiders see and if it can work with a text browser, it can work with just about any other browser.

Stay away from using Java, Flash, Java script, scripting such as that can trap the spiders, which will result in them not to index your content. Go external with scripting languages if you need them that bad, use something such as CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Your web site should respond almost instantly to requests. If you get into 3 to 4 seconds delay until it loads, you need to cut down on the images and overall web page size. Keep the web page under 20k if at all possible, but keep it at least at 5k. Don’t use frames, neither the visitors nor the search engines like it and shouldn’t be used for any reason.

Content – Web pages should have 200 to 1500 words. Put your target keywords in bold, underline, heading and italics text. Spiders reads web pages top to bottom and they also know that the main keyword should appear in the first few sentences. Which means your targeted keywords should appear high on the page, within the first few words, also they should be in the middle and towards the end of the articles. The keyword density should be between 5 and 15%, but don’t lose sleep over it, just make sure you get a density of 5%.

Meta and Title Tags – Meta tags are thought by many SEO experts to have little impact, If any at all, but it’s still recommended, just in case it’s still a factor. The description tag is still sometimes used in the search engines as description of the web site, so try to be creative and describe your web page’s content and not just for the search engines, but for the visitors as well. Also remember not to use the same description tag for each web page, some search engines may think the page is too much like the other pages and end up banning you.

You should place your top keywords in keyword tag, keep it to 5 to 15, make sure your most important keyword appears first though. The title tag is very important part of the web page. Both the search engines and visitors will see this, so be smart and creative with it. Try to have your most important keyword to appear first and keep it short, there isn’t any need for 20 or 30 words to appear in the title tag.

Links – Look around your keyword sector in DMOZ or Yahoo!, you will find many web sites that are useful to your visitors and to your ranking. Try to exchange links with one web site a day. Almost every topic has an on-topic directory, go submit to them. Don’t forget DMOZ, Yahoo! or other big name directories. When you receive requests for link exchanges, check the site out before giving the OK. Check to see if they are using any spam techniques and make sure they are listed in the search engines. Also make sure it’s a web site similar to your web site’s topic.

One way backlinks are the best backlinks a web site can get because most reciprocal link exchanges are only for link popularity and search engines are aware of this growing problem. But they are hard to get, one way to get them is by buying them or an other is by writing articles and allowing others to use them on their own web site for content, along with a link back to your web site.

Insite Cross Links – Link to on topic content across your web site. If a web page is about games, then make sure it links to PS2 games and Xbox games web page. Web pages shouldn’t be no more then 3 clicks away from the home page. They should be close to the root as possible.

Submission – Once you have insured you have done all the above, you can submit to the search engines, such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN and Ask Jeeves. Really, if you get enough backlinks you won’t need to submit to any of them and instead they will find you. There is some debate that submitting to the search engines instead of letting them find you can hurt your ranking, so you may choose to sit back and let them find you. Also note, that by submitting will not speed it up any and in fact the fastest way to get in the index, is by getting backlinks.

Listening Attitude and Technique

Filed under: Information Center at 12:44 pm Comments Off

As the story goes, a New York columnist who had to attend many cocktail parties each season had come to believe a certain socialite was a less than perfect listener. It was said that this socialite was so preoccupied with making a wonderful impression on her guests that she was unable to hear anything that they were saying. To test this theory, the columnist came late to one of her parties. When he was greeted at the door by the hostess he said, “I am sorry to be so late, but I witnessed a murder and had to fill out numerous police reports.” The super-charming hostess beamed and replied, “Well, darling, the important thing is that you have arrived, and now the party can really begin.”

Having a listening attitude can speak volumes for itself. A listening attitude conveys to the person talking with you the message that says, “I respect you as a person, and I am working at understanding and appreciating your point of view.” Maintaining this genuine attitude is critical to enhancing your specific listening techniques.

The following are some listening techniques that will improve your comprehension and help you interpret information: 1. Visualize all that you hear: convert the words you hear into word pictures and experience them. 2. Ask yourself “What is the speaker trying to achieve?” and “What is their motivation?” 3. Study the non-verbals: facial expressions, tone, gestures, movements & emphasis. 4. Outline what is being said. 5. Cross-check information to test your perceptions.

It’s All In The Planning – Surviving Disaster

Filed under: The Technology Way at 8:55 am Comments Off

ITS ALL IN THE PLANNING – PREPARING FOR THE UNTHINKABLE

* Make it clear who needs to do what, and who takes responsibility for what.

* Appoint deputies for key roles.

* Use checklists that people can follow easily.

* Include clear, direct instructions for the crucial first hour after an incident.

* Include a list of things that do not need to be considered until after the first hour.

* Agree how often you will check your plan to ensure it is always a “living document”. Update it to reflect changes in personnel and in the risks you may face.

* A good plan will be simple without being simplistic. You can’t plan in detail for every event. Remember that people need to be able to react quickly in an emergency; there will be no time to read lots of detail.

* Plan for worst-case scenarios. If your plan covers how to get back in business if a flood destroys your building, it will also work if just one floor is flooded.

FIVE STEPS TO GET ROUND DISRUPTION

Step 1 Analyse your Business

Step 2 Assess the Risks

Step 3 Develop your Strategy

Step 4 Develop your Plan

Step 5 Rehearse your Plan

Cisco CCNP Certification / BSCI Exam Tutorial: An Introduction To BGP

Filed under: The Technology Way at 12:11 am Comments Off

When you’re studying for the BSCI exam on the way to earning your CCNP certification, it’s safe to say that BGP is like nothing you’ve studied to this point. BGP is an external routing protocol used primarily by Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Unless you work for an ISP today or in the future, you may have little or no prior exposure to BGP. Understanding BGP is a great addition to your skill set – and you have to know the basics well to pass the BSCI exam.

Note that I said “the basics”. BGP is a very complex protocol, and when you pursue your CCIE, you’ll see what I’m talking about. As with all things Cisco, though, when broken down into smaller pieces, BGP becomes quite understandable. You will need to know the basics of BGP as presented in this chapter to pass your BSCI exam – so let’s get started.

BGP Defined:

“An Internet protocol that enables groups of routers (called autonomous systems) to share routing information so that efficient, loop-free routes can be established. BGP is commonly used within and between Internet Service Providers (ISPs).”

There are a couple of terms in there that apply to the protocols you’ve mastered so far in your studies. The term “autonomous system” applies to IGRP and EIGRP as well as BGP; you’ll be indicating a BGP AS in your configurations just as you did with IGRP and EIGRP. And we’re always looking for efficient, loop-free routes, right? As it did with IGRP and EIGRP, “autonomous system” simply refers to a group of routers that is managed by a single administrative body. An autonomous system will use an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) such as OSPF or EIGRP to route packets inside the AS; outside the AS, an Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) such as BGP will be used.

BGP shares some characteristics with some routing protocols you’ve already studied. BGP supports VLSM, summarization, and CIDR. Like EIGRP, BGP will send full updates when two routers initially become neighbors and will send only partial updates after that. BGP does create and maintain neighbor relationships before exchanging routes, and keepalives are sent to keep this relationship alive.

BGP has some major differences from the IGPs we’ve studied to this point. You’ll hear BGP referred to as a path-vector protocol. As opposed to distance-vector protocols that exchange relatively simple information about available routes, BGP routers will exchange extensive information about networks to allow the routers to make more intelligent routing decisions. This additional BGP path information comes in the form of attributes, and these path attributes are contained in the updates sent by BGP routers. Attributes themselves are broken up into two classes, well-known and optional.

BGP also keeps a routing table separate from the IP routing table.
We’ll take a look at BGP attributes in future BSCI tutorials. In the meantime, keep studying!

Cisco CCNP Certification / BSCI Exam Tutorial: Route Summarization Basics

Filed under: The Technology Way at 10:22 am Comments Off

As you earn your CCNA and CCNP certification, you’re going to have to get comfortable with manually summarizing routes. This isn’t just another reason to learn binary math (although it’s a good one!), but summarizing routes is a true real-world skill that can help your network operate more efficiently. So the question isn’t just how to summarize routes, it’s why.

When you summarize routes in RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, or OSPF, you’re replacing a series of routes with a summary route and mask. With RIP, IGRP, and EIGRP, this actually lessens the size of the routing update packet itself – multiple routes are replaced with the summary route. For instance, the routes 8.0.0.0/8, 9.0.0.0/8, 10.0.0.0/8, and 11.0.0.0/8 can be summarized as 8.0.0.0 252.0.0.0. Only the summary address will be found in the update packet, making it concise yet complete.

Summarizing routes can also make the routing table smaller, yet still allow for complete IP connectivity when done correctly. Using the above example, the four more-specific routes will be replaced by a single summary route. Since the entire routing table is parsed before the routing process is complete, keeping the routing table as small as possible does help speed the routing process as a whole.

To prepare for success on your CCNA and CCNP exam, you’ve got to know how to summarize routes as well as the specific commands for doing so with OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, and IGRP – but knowing why to summarize routes is just as important as knowing how! Here are some additional tips on route summarization.

With RIP version 2 and EIGRP, manual route summarization is configured on the interface that will be advertising the summary. This is done with the route summarization command “ip summary-address.”

RIP version 2 and EIGRP also both perform autosummarization on routes that are advertised across classful network boundaries. This is disabled with the protocol-level command “no auto-summary”.

OSPF offers two different route summarization commands. To summarize routes from one OSPF area to another, use the “area range” command; to summarize routes learned via redistribution, use the “summary-address” command on the ASBR.

With proper planning and an understanding of binary math, you’ll master route summarization quickly with some practice – and you’ll be ready for success on real-world networks as well as the CCNA and CCNP exams!

Free Link Exchange – Is It Worth Using a Free Link Exchange Program?

Filed under: Better Traffic at 7:38 am Comments Off

There are many free link exchange sites on the internet. Link exchange is beneficial. However, competition online is increasing. In any given industry, most of the time, the sites competing for top positions in the search engines have over 1000 links to their website. To use a free link exchange program can be very time consuming, slow and discouraging. Especially when trying to reach that 1000 mark one link at a time.

There are programs online that will provide you with hundreds or thousands of backlinks in a short period of time.

There are some things you should make note of before starting a link exchange program:

Make sure you use keywords in and around your link – You may think that your link, buried in a sea of 25 other links will never be seen by an actual visitor. But, while no one usually goes to someones link page looking for a site to visit, search engines will pick up on your keywords and sometimes rank that page with your link on it high in the search engines. This can result in direct traffic for your targeted keywords.

Site wide links do almost no good – A few years ago, having a link on every page of another website would increase your search engine rankings considerably. However, nowadays a site wide link on another website will not help you at all.

Links exchanged with relevant sites increase your ranking – Figure that the search engines are trying to determine what industry and topics your pages are related to by who is linking to you. The closer in relevance your link is, the more it helps you rank higher for those pages.

Try more than one option. Spend your time wisely by spreading out your efforts. Do a little manual link exchanging. Try a couple of automatic link exchange programs. Write good content for your website to increase natural linking.
